Let’s get to know Ashley Kerby!
Mrs Ashley Kerby is a small town girl and she loves the great things small towns have to offer! So with her husband she raisers her 3 daughters in one!
Her hobbies include, “of course, I have a true passion for photography, but my other hobbies include any ‘crafty,’ sewing, decorating, etc. “
How long have you been in this photography journey?
“I am and self-taught photographer and have been in the photography business for around five years.” She replied. Now let me tell y’all something looking at these pictures you would think she was professionally trained! She has God given talent!
Who is your most favorite photographer?
“Hmm…my favorite photographer? I have so many that I admire, but I guess if I had to choose one, it’d be Paint the Moon.”
What type of photography do you do most? And what do you enjoy most and why?
“My husband’s mother, grandmother, and uncle were all in the photography business for years. We joke that it’s in their blood. After becoming a mother, my passion for photography grew. I wanted to ‘pause time’ through my pictures and be able to catch all their milestones, both big and small. Since my mother-in-law was no longer active in photography, my husband suggested that I start ‘branching out’ instead of just photographing our girls. It started with a few friends and family and has just continued to grow since then! I still sometimes have to pinch myself. I can’t begin to describe how lucky and blessed I am to have a job that I truly LOVE!”
What is the most challenging part about being a photographer for you?
“I’d say the most challenging thing about being a photographer is the ‘unknowns’ — Will the newborn sleep? Will the toddlers sit still? Will I connect with the family? Will they love their pictures? There’s LOTS of challenges (and fears)…but seeing that precious little gift to a new mommy/daddy, seeing that beaming smile, capturing that true love between two people make all those fears that I have SO worth it! I’d say the best business tip is just to take that leap of faith! Start small with your family/friends and just pray about what direction you’d like to go it – God will lead you!”
Wow is all I have to say! Your story is powerful! It brought chills to my skin!
